From 1 July 2009 taxpayers can no longer claim family tax benefit through the tax system...

Centrelink mailout to taxpayers who have claimed family tax benefits through the Tax Office

In March 2009, Centrelink will send a letter to all taxpayers who have claimed family tax benefit via the tax system. The letter will advise them that from 1 July 2009 they can no longer claim family tax benefit through the tax system; instead, they will need to apply to the Family Assistance Office. The letter will include details on how to claim in future and how to contact the Family Assistance Office.

Where your details have been provided as the contact for the taxpayer, the letter will be sent to you.
